Sun Sense

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure

This advice is particularly important for children, because 80% of all sun exposure occurs before the age of 18.

  • Stay in the shade during peak sun hours

UV rays are at their strongest between 10am and 4pm.

  • Wear a hat

A stylish, broad-brimmed number will protect your ears as well as your neck and face. Sunglasses are a good idea, too. And don't forget the sunscreen.

  • Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen

You need protection against both UVB and UVA rays. Sunscreens that contain Parsol® 1789 or Zinc Oxide provide protection throughout the UVA spectrum.  Don't just trust the marketing.  Look for the proper active ingredients.

  • Reapply sunscreen

Apply your sunscreen 30 minutes before you go out in the sun, and then reapply at least every 2 hours.
